Shirkey needs to hear from you
Governor Gretchen Whitmer is demanding the Republican-controlled Legislature pass dangerous “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation legislation since the attacks in Ohio and Texas.
Anti-gun Democrats heap praise on Shirkey
On the same day as the 2019 Second Amendment March, the Detroit News reported that GOP Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey promised to hold hearings on “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation legislation in the near future.
Whitmer Calls for Gun Bans
While in Grand Rapids celebrating the opening of a coffee shop yesterday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer decided it was an appropriate time to tout her support for outright bans on certain types of firearms.
Gun confiscation hearings in Lansing?
While hundreds of pro-gun Michiganders were rallying outside the Capitol yesterday, backroom deals were being cut by GOP Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey to hold a hearing on dangerous “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation orders sometime this fall.
Whitmer Demands Gun Confiscation Orders
I can’t say that I am surprised.
It was only a matter of time before Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer made a full-throated endorsement of gun control and start making demands for the Republican-controlled Legislature to “act.”
Yesterday afternoon, Governor Whitmer took to Twitter to call on the Legislature to “act now” on passing Democrat State Representative Robert Wittenberg’s due process-shredding “Red Flag” gun confiscation bill, House Bill 4283.
Constitutional Carry introduced in Lansing!
It’s official!
State Representative Steve Johnson (R-HD 72) just last week introduced Great Lakes Gun Rights’ Constitutional Carry legislation for this session of the Michigan Legislature!
Introduced as a package of bills (HB 4770, 4771, 4772, 4773 and 4774), this pro-gun legislation would restore the right of law-abiding citizens in Michigan to carry a pistol to protect themselves, whether openly or concealed, without having to beg the government for permission or pay expensive fees.
Constitutional Carry filed in Lansing!
Law-abiding gun owners should not have to beg the government for permission to exercise their right to keep and bear arms.
Currently in Michigan, you can open carry without a permit.
However, if you were to put on a coat which covers your pistol, you could become a felon.
Michigan House Update
Today the Michigan House of Representatives passed HB 4434, which reduces the penalty for carrying concealed with an expired CPL from a five year felony to a civil infraction.
This modest common sense proposal passed overwhelmingly with bi-partisan support on a vote of 90-19.
High alert
Like in so many cases before, the gun control lobby is shamelessly using the blood of innocents to advance their anti-gun agenda.
And they’ve already succeeded at the federal level, ramming gun control into the massive $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill.
The new legislation, known as “Fix-NICS,” spends more than $625 MILLION to beef up the Brady-NICS gun control database to reward states for banning people from owning guns.
The end of due process?
Like in so many cases before, the gun control lobby is shamelessly using the blood of innocents to advance their anti-gun agenda.
But this time is even scarier…
I am sure you have seen the news by now that President Trump is advocating for more gun control than former President Obama EVER dreamed of passing.
President Trump, joined by Sens. Dianne Feinstein and John Cornyn, laid out his plan to pass radical gun control.
And I’ve got to tell you, I couldn’t believe what he said.
