URGENT: Hearing TOMORROW on Bills Targeting Gun Stores

They know they can’t ban your guns outright.

Well, at least they know they don’t have the votes to right now.

So now they’re coming for gun stores instead.

Michigan Senate Bills 853 and 854 are a coordinated attack designed to strangle the lawful sale of firearms in our state — and the Senate Judiciary Committee is taking them up tomorrow.

Even though these bills are unlikely to become law this year with Republicans controlling the Michigan House, that doesn’t mean they aren’t dangerous.

In fact, this is how it starts.

Bad gun control bills are introduced, normalized, and pushed forward piece by piece until the political landscape shifts.

And there’s a reason this should sound familiar — because this is the exact kind of system already on the books in some of the most anti-gun states in the country like California, New York, and Illinois.

Make no mistake: this is a direct attack on the Second Amendment.

These bills would require gun dealers to obtain a new state license on top of their federal license, impose costly fees and burdensome regulations, mandate government-approved training and testing, and subject dealers to constant oversight, inspections, and penalties. They also create endless opportunities for bureaucrats to suspend or revoke licenses.

If a dealer loses their license, they lose their business.

And it gets worse.

These bills would force gun stores to install surveillance systems that record every firearm and ammunition purchase, capturing clear images of your face and storing that footage for at least six years.

That means the government could access years of video showing who bought firearms, when they bought them, and where — all preserved and ready to be turned over to law enforcement on request.

At the same time, state and local authorities would be empowered to conduct random, unannounced inspections of gun stores to check compliance.

This isn’t about stopping crime. It’s about driving small gun stores out of business, raising the cost of firearms, and limiting where and how you can buy them.

Anti-gun politicians know that if they can eliminate gun dealers, they can eliminate your ability to exercise your rights.

Gun dealers are already heavily regulated under federal law. These bills don’t fix a loophole. They create a second layer of enforcement designed to trap dealers in red tape, punish honest mistakes, and shut down law-abiding businesses.

These bills must be stopped now — before they gain momentum.

The Senate Judiciary Committee is hearing these bills tomorrow. They need to hear from you immediately.

Click here to find your State Senator’s contact information right now and urge them to oppose SB 853 and SB 854, reject any attempt to license or regulate gun dealers out of existence, and stand firm for the Second Amendment without compromise.

If we ignore this, it will come back stronger next time.
