The results are in.
Congressman John James won the Republican primary for Governor last night. Thanks to the persistent encouragement of our members, James returned his Great Lakes Gun Rights Candidate Survey 100% pro-gun.
He has pledged to:
● Support Constitutional Carry
● Oppose “Red Flag” gun confiscation
● Support the repeal of Michigan’s restrictive Permit to Purchase law
James now heads into the general election against anti-gun Democrat (and current Secretary of State) Jocelyn Benson. Back in 2020, Benson attempted to unilaterally ban guns at polling places during the election before the judicial system slapped her down.
She is as anti-gun as they come, and she will push for more gun bans, more confiscation schemes, and more laws designed to disarm as many Michiganders as possible.
Other good news from last night:
● Pro-gun State Rep Steve Carra also won his primary. (GLGR PAC-endorsed)
● Great Lakes Gun Rights PAC-endorsed State House candidate Joe Moss (House District 89) won his race.
On the U.S. Senate side, it looks like Abdul El-Sayed will win the Democratic primary over Haley Stevens and face Republican Mike Rogers in November.
El-Sayed supports gun bans, universal gun registration, and “Red Flag” laws — making him a serious threat to the Second Amendment rights of every law-abiding Michigander.
The November elections will determine whether Michigan continues down the path of more gun control or begins restoring the rights of law-abiding citizens.
