Now is the time to call the members of the House Military, Veterans and Homeland Security Committee to encourage them to vote for HB 4770-4774.

Contact information can be found by clicking here.

It’s important legislation that needs the immediate support of our elected officials — it is time for Michigan law to stop treating gun owners like criminals.

Currently, Michigan law punishes the carrying of a concealed pistol on a person or in a vehicle without a CPL with a harsh five year felony and up to $2,500 fine, in addition to thousands of dollars in legal fees.

This is a draconian punishment for what is essentially a victimless crime, one that the anti-gun haven of California is more forgiving towards…

Already 15 states have restored the right to carry a pistol for self-defense, openly or concealed, without having to obtain a permit by passing their own Constitutional Carry legislation.

And contrary to the cries and misinformation from the media, Constitutional Carry states are consistently the safest states in the nation.

In fact, Maine was just recognized as being the safest state in the nation after passing Constitutional Carry back in 2015.

Now, while we have a long road ahead of us to making Constitutional Carry a reality here in Michigan, simply having hearings on this important legislation and getting it voted out of one committee is a good step towards our ultimate goal.

GLGR’s goal is get a recorded vote on the floor of the House of Representatives before the 2020 elections so that every State Representative is forced to take a position on Constitutional Carry.

They can either stand with the status quo of punishing gun owners with a ridiculous five year felony for a victimless crime, or they can take a vote towards restoring sanity to our gun laws by advancing Constitutional Carry legislation.

The choice is theirs, but ultimately constituents are going to hear about it and those who vote against restoring the right to keep and bear arms here in Michigan are going to learn real quick that being anti-gun in some of their districts is a political liability.

Pro-gun Michiganders are encouraged to come watch and participate in the hearing on Tuesday, October 22nd at Noon in House Office Building Room 307.

But, we will all need to show up early as Bloomberg-funded activists are sure to be there trying to fill the seats.

I’ll be there to testify on behalf of the thousands of Great Lakes Gun Rights members across the state in support of HB 4770-4774.

After getting voted out of the House Military, Veterans and Homeland Security Committee I am fully expecting our legislation to be sent to the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Republican State Representative Graham Filler of the 93rd House District.

So stand by for more activism, as we will need to encourage Chairman Filler and the other committee members to hold a hearing and vote on HB 4770-4774 in the near future.

But first, please call the House Military, Veterans and Homeland Security Committee members to encourage them to vote for HB 4770-4774.

And then please consider chipping in $30 or even $15 to help us bring more pro-gun Michiganders into the fight.

For Freedom,
