Stop Biden’s gun control in Michigan
Michigan law enforcement officers may soon be tasked with enforcing the first wave of gun control coming out of the Biden White House.
The ATF’s new regulations and the most broad gun control bill passed in 30 years are going into effect and the gun grabbers are claiming this is just the beginning.
Biden and his allies can now say they’ve “done something” ahead of the 2022 elections. They promised gun control, and their donors and voting base are now fired up.
Make no mistake, dangerous “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation is at the TOP of the list in Michigan, especially since it now comes with federal funding.
Under “Red Flag,” a nosy neighbor, a disgruntled employee, a vindictive former boss, or just a mean Leftist is all it takes to strip YOU of your gun rights, for life!
And it can be done with an anonymous tip! No court hearing, no facing your accuser. Just a mere accusation, and you lose your rights.

They also want mandated storage laws that will do nothing but put more obstacles between law-abiding gun owners and adequate protection, while giving criminals a head start at committing their crimes.
Not to mention the Gun Control Lobby is still seething, with the number of states passing Constitutional Carry laws growing to 25, they would love to force every gun owner in America to get a federal permit to carry.
The recent gun control package is just the tip of the iceberg and there’s no doubt Biden and his allies in Congress will ram it all into law if given the chance.
You’ve seen it for yourself now, you really don’t want to leave your gun rights in the hands of the likes of Mitch McConnell.
And none of this even takes into account Biden’s anti-gun Executive Orders!
Since we obviously can’t trust the federal government to “do the right thing,” we need the Second Amendment Preservation Act!
SAPA legislation would nullify federal gun control laws here in Michigan by requiring law enforcement officials here in Michigan to ONLY enforce gun laws that have been passed by the Michigan Legislature.
So, Joe Biden could sign whatever Executive Orders his far-Left advisors tell him to sign, but they won’t be enforced here in Michigan!
Sound too good to be true? It’s not.
SAPA legislation is based on the Constitutional “anti-commandeering doctrine,” which states that the federal government may not simply “commandeer” the states’ legislative authority and make them enforce laws that are contrary to state law.
What’s more, the United States Supreme Court has upheld the anti-commandeering doctrine for hundreds of years in a broad array of cases, including:
>>> The 2018 Murphy v. NCAA decision, where the Court affirmed that the state legislature in New Jersey had the right to place restrictions on sports gambling, even though the new state law contradicted federal law.
>>> The 2012 Obamacare case (NFIB v. Sebelius,) where the Court cited the anti-commandeering doctrine again, as they affirmed the states’ right to refuse to expand Medicare.
>>> The 1997 Printz v. United States decision, where the Court agreed with Sheriffs Jay Printz and Richard Mack that they could not be forced to enforce the Brady Gun Control bill.
>>> The 1842 Prigg v Pennsylvania decision, where the Supreme Court held that the federal government could not simply force the states to enforce the Fugitive Slave Act of 1793.
So it’s clear that the Supreme Court agrees that the states are sovereign entities that have the absolute right to refuse to enforce federal laws that don’t align with state law.
And while the Leftists can scream and shout about the Supremacy Clause all they want, they have been ignoring federal laws they disagree with for years when it comes to marijuana and sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.
But for this legislation to be effective, it absolutely must have teeth, or it will be ignored by anti-gun mayors and department heads in Lansing, Ann Arbor, and elsewhere.
You see, the idea of nullifying federal gun control isn’t new. In fact, back in the early days of the Obama Administration, everyone was talking about the “Firearms Freedom Act” to stop Obama’s war against gun owners.
This old legislation had a major flaw, however, in that it required the State Attorney General to defend a gun owner whose gun rights were being violated by government officials.
As we all know, trusting any other elected official to stand in the gap for gun owners is just wishful thinking, as they almost always put their interests ahead of ours!
Rep. Carra’s SAPA legislation is much different. His bill levies heavy fines and even jail time for any official trying to enforce federal gun control laws in Michigan.
Doing this not only gives our SAPA legislation real teeth, but it also protects Michigan’s peace officers in a very real way.
You see, we are already hearing from troopers, deputies, and city cops who are concerned about being ordered to enforce gun control — which would force them to violate their oath to the Constitution or lose their job.
SAPA legislation protects Michigan peace officers from having to choose between enforcing unconstitutional federal gun control laws or losing their job, by allowing them to point to Michigan’s SAPA law and remind their department that enforcing Biden’s gun control agenda would be a crime!
Simply put: SAPA legislation is the best tool available for gun owners. It defangs Joe Biden’s Executive Actions while protecting gun owners, Michigan cops, and the Second Amendment.
And now that similar legislation has passed in Missouri, SAPA is spreading like wildfire in other red states across the country.
But you and I both know that passing this legislation will not happen without a fight in Lansing. There are far too many RINOs interested in going along to get along to see this legislation through without a fight!
We’re going to need to pour on grassroots pressure.
