Senate Democrats pass three gun control bills

Radical gun control is headed to the Michigan House of Representatives after passing the Senate with Republican support!

And Rep. Jim DeSana’s bills to repeal dangerous “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation are still in limbo.

That’s why it’s crucial for you to call Judiciary Committee Chair Sarah Lightner at (517) 373-1773 urging her to schedule hearings for HB 4138-4140.

Your calls put Lightner on notice that gun owners want their gun rights restored and are tired of seeing gun control advanced by self-proclaimed pro-gun Republicans.

You see, multiple gun control bills just passed the Senate and could soon be referred to the same committee where Rep DeSana’s bill package is being stonewalled.

>>> Bump stock ban (SB 224)

>>> Criminalizing carry in the Capitol, House Office Building and Senate Office Building (SB 225 and SB 226)

>>> Mandating ALL firearms and certain firearm parts be serialized, aimed at so-called “ghost guns” (SB 331 and SB 332)All of these bills just passed the Senate and SB 224 even had the support of Republican Senators Thomas A. Albert, Mark Huizenga, and Michael Webber.

That’s why it’s so important for pro-gun Michiganders to make it clear that Representatives following the lead of turncoat Republicans in the Senate will be met with a high political price tag.

And the best way to defend against the onslaught of anti-gun bills making their way to the House will be to go on offense and pushing for Republicans to advance the bills to repeal “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation.

As you already know, “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation allows government agents to seize legally-owned firearms from Michiganders based on nothing more than a mere accusation.

No chance to face your accuser, no court hearing before you’re stripped of your property, and no crime even being committed.

Simply put, no due process.

On top of that, if we can get lawmakers on record for repealing “Red Flag,” we’ll know who needs to be held accountable when politicians and candidates start seeking support during the election season.

That’s why it’s critical to pile the pressure on Rep. Lightner to hold hearings on DeSana’s bills to repeal due process-shredding “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation.

So I’m counting on you to call the Judiciary Chair Rep. Sarah Lightner at (517) 373-1773 and politely demand she hold hearings on HB 4138-4140.

Look, Sarah, you and I both know “Red Flag” isn’t getting repealed with Governor Whitmer still in the Governor’s mansion.

But it is crucial to start laying the groundwork with a recorded vote for when we get pro-gun majorities and a pro-gun Governor.

All we need to do is keep up the momentum against “Red Flag” without resting on our laurels.

Remember, every Republican voted against “Red Flag” and none of them lost their elections, while four Democrats who voted for it lost their seats to Republicans who campaigned as pro-gun.

And this is just the beginning.

Pro-gun Michiganders are already grasping the momentum and setting the table to capture majorities.

Repealing “Red Flag’ Gun Confiscation isn’t going to be easy, but nothing worth fighting for ever is.

We can get over the speedbumps we face in the political process and continue the progress we’ve made in the last couple years.

If we truly want to restore the right to keep and bear arms in Michigan we need to keep the pressure up in Lansing.

So once you make your call to Rep. Lightner, I’m hoping I can also count on you to go above and beyond the current call of duty with a generous contribution to Great Lakes Gun Rights.

I’m not sure what you can afford, but some folks have been able to give $100, or even $50.

If that’s just too much for you right now, please consider $30 to help retain the war chests I’ll need to keep the pressure on politicians in Lansing to defend gun rights.

Even a contribution of just $15 will help me mobilize more pro-gun patriots across Michigan to fight for the Second Amendment.

You can also become a monthly donor and boost our efforts by spreading the resources over the entire year, and give us the sustained support that keeps us ready through the year-round legislative session.

After you make your phone call and generous donation, please forward this email to all your like-minded friends and family to get them in on the fight.

I’ll continue keeping you updated on the developments in Lansing and give you the opportunity to strike in defense of gun rights.

Thank you for your continued vigilance and support.
