“Never let a crisis go to waste” is the motto of the Democrat Party and the gun ban lobby.
Before all the facts could even come out about the tragic shooting in Northern Michigan, Democrat candidate for Governor Jocelyn Benson immediately called for more gun control and stricter enforcement of Whitmer’s “Red Flag” gun confiscation scheme.
These people are vultures who use the victims of crime to prop up their radical and failed agenda.
Benson’s record makes her intentions crystal clear:
In 2020 she unilaterally banned open carry of firearms at polling places and within 100 feet of them (and she almost got away with until she was slapped down by the courts).
She is endorsed by the radical anti-gun groups Giffords, Everytown for Gun Safety, and Moms Demand Action.
Benson supports expanding and closing supposed “loopholes” in Whitmer’s Red Flag law so more guns can be seized without due process from law-abiding Michiganders.
And she has described the 2023 gun-control package as “just the beginning” and wants to go further — including abolishing legal protections for gun manufacturers.
If Democrats take back control of Lansing this fall, the 2023 gun control binge will look like a cake walk by comparison. Gun bans, gun grabs, and disarming as many Michiganders as possible is their end game.
The contrast with the James-DeBoyer ticket could not be sharper. Republican gubernatorial candidate John James returned his Great Lakes Gun Rights survey 100% pro-gun. His running mate, State Rep. Jay DeBoyer, has a 100% pro-gun voting record and is a sponsor of both the Constitutional Carry package and the bills to repeal Whitmer’s Red Flag laws.
