If there was ever any doubt about what the gun control lobby has planned for Michigan — it’s gone now.
Anti-gun politicians, backed by groups like GIFFORDS, have rolled out a sweeping package of legislation that would gut the Second Amendment in our state piece by piece.
This is their roadmap.
And if they regain full control in Lansing after 2026, they fully intend to make it law.
Here’s just a glimpse of what they’re pushing:
● A ban on so-called “high-capacity” magazines (HB 5750 / SB 851) — criminalizing standard equipment owned by millions of law-abiding Americans
● Mandatory government training before you can even purchase a firearm (HB 5752) — turning a right into a privilege you must “qualify” for
● Government waiting periods (HB 5743 / SB 848) — delaying your ability to defend yourself and your family when it matters most
● Raising the age to purchase firearms to 21 (HB 5753 / HB 5754) — stripping legal adults of their constitutional rights
● Letting local governments create a patchwork of gun bans (HB 5749 / SB 852) — making it nearly impossible to safely and legally carry across Michigan
● Allowing lawsuits against firearm manufacturers by ending industry protections (HB 5758 / HB 5759 / HB 5760) — a backdoor attempt to bankrupt the entire firearms industry Let’s call this what it is.
Not “commonsense.”
Not “safety.”
This is a coordinated effort to restrict, punish, and ultimately eliminate lawful gun ownership in Michigan.
Great Lakes Gun Rights exists to stop exactly this kind of agenda.
We don’t negotiate away your freedoms.
We don’t accept “less bad” gun control.
And we don’t back down when the pressure ramps up.
But make no mistake — if anti-gun Democrats take full control of state government again, this fight becomes even more intense.
That’s why we are preparing now.
We are exposing these bills.
We are mobilizing grassroots gun owners.
And we are building the pressure needed to stop this agenda before it becomes reality.
The other side is organized, funded, and relentless.
We must be more so.
